Give the Holy Rosary a Try!

Here are a few suggestions to get you started:

1. Pray with Intention and for an Intention.

  • Set a time and space for prayer. Prepare yourself and your environment.
  • Set an intention or intentions for your time of prayer. Offer up your prayer for a specific cause or intercession.
  • Each Mystery of the Rosary presents an event in Jesus’ life, and a fruit of the Spirit to meditate upon. Focus on each mystery or fruit as you pray.

2. Pray as an exercise in Humility.

  • Every prayer done with intention counts. Focus on praising, thanking, and asking for the graces you need from God.
  • Share your weaknesses, your flaws, your insecurities. Understand that you don’t have to be perfect to be perfectly loved by God.

3. Pray as an exercise in Perseverance.

  • Don’t give up! You might feel distracted and discouraged. Continue sharing your thoughts and emotions with God.
  • Find inspiration and motivation in the testimony of the Saints. Even the great Saints and Doctors of the Church felt like you do at this moment. Ask them to pray for you.

“Rejoice always, pray constantly, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

1 Thessalonians 5: 16-18
